ORCA Applied Engineering Solutions Corp. offers solutions wastewater management to meet the stringent requirements of the Philippine Clean Water Act of 2004, legislated as Republic Act No. 9275, which aims to protect the country’s water bodies from pollution from land-based sources such as industries and commercial establishments, agriculture and community/household activities. The law mandates all owners or operators of facilities that discharge wastewater to ensure that its effluent shall not cause any adverse effect to the receiving body of water by connecting to the existing sewage line or by providing, installing, operating and maintaining its own wastewater treatment facility.
Build-Operater-Own (BOO)
ORCA Applied Engineering Solutions Corp. is a local partner of Singapore-based Investment Firm Tigris Water Company, which invests on the basis of “solutions-as-a-service” for decentralized water and wastewater treatment, and other environmental technology systems (including energy optimization, IoT-enabled solutions, etc.) throughout Asia. No such specialized Investment Platform for decentralized Water and Wastewater Treatment and Environmental Systems exists in the country to date.
Today, business owners, as end-users, invest on Water and Wastewater Treatment Systems through a straight-forward contract for the engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) of the Water and Wastewater Treatment Systems.
ORCA has the capability to provide our clients a “Water-As-A-Service” solution, through a Service or a Build-Operate-Own (BOO) Contract Model. Under this arrangement, the ownership of the Water and Wastewater Treatment System will be transferred to the business owner after a certain, pre-agreed period of time, which ranges from five (5) to ten (10) years.
This offer comes along with the following advantages to ORCA clients:
- No Upfront Capital Expenditure (CapEx): The business owner shall not be required to make any upfront payment for the design, installation and commissioning of the Water and Wastewater Treatment Systems. ORCA shall only charge monthly fee, thereby, turning the CapEx into an OpEx;
- No Technology Risk: Any defect in the design, installation and operation of the Water and Wastewater Treatment System shall be rectified and resolved by ORCA, at no expense to the business owner;
- Positive Corporate Image: ORCA shall ensure that the operation of the Water and Wastewater Treatment System shall be of highest quality, hence, demonstrating the business owners’ environmental stewardship to conserve and protect the country’s water resources and ensuring compliance to prevailing environmental regulations;
- Focus on Core Business Activities: ORCA shall be responsible for all manpower, operations and maintenance of the Water and Wastewater Treatment System. This frees up the manpower and resources for the business owner, which helps them focus on their core business activities.
