SURE continues its passion for the development and implementation of Renewable Energy (RE) projects in the country and Southeast Asia. Its passion originates from a shared vision among its founders who have spent a significant portion of their lives in the environment and energy industries. SURE aims to provide services and technologies that shall stimulate the growth of the RE industry within the SE Asian Region. SURE's capabilities include project development, engineering, construction, operation and maintenance for renewable energy projects that utilize solar, mini-hydro, small wind, biomas and biogas technologies.
Our company envisions to be the leading RE firm in developing best value projects in a socially and environmentally responsive framework. It targets to provide sustainable alternatives to the increasing energy demands. Along with our group companies and affiliates we have over 120 people across 5 countries.
Currently, SURE's major projects cover the development of biogas, biomass, solar and mini-hydro projects for electricity production, heat production, combined heat and power (CHP) and trigeneration. SURE operates on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) scheme from project conceptualization, design and integration.
SURE operates by utilizing a business model that involves the establishment of Special Purpose Companies (SPCs) where SURE retains ownership. The SPC serves as the country-level project development company that manages project finance facilities during project implementation.
Business Platforms
Bioenergy Plants
SURE Inc, has established a joint venture with Mizuho Asia Partners’ MIZUHO ASEAN PE FUND and Simfoni Bioresources to develop and operate BOT and BOO (Renewable Energy projects in Asia) committing to an initial portfolio of projects in ASEAN worth USD20 Million. These include Biogas Waste to Energy Projects in Philippines, Vietnam and the first Biogas Animal Waste to Energy project in Singapore.
Waste to Worth
SURE Inc, has a program supported by P&G and ADB for Waste to Worth with a goal to establish a new model for MSW to maximize value from all waste streams and lessen the residue to landfills for about 1%. Currently, 4 sites in the country with a pipeline are under development and being evaluated in several countries.
Microgrid Development
Sure Inc, recently setup a 25kw micro grid supported by USAID in Green Island Palawan. Known for its marine biodiversity, the area has numerous islands which are mostly energized through small diesel engines. Utilizing locally available biomass resources, such as coconut shells and other agricultural residues, a small scale gasifier was set up together with a solar and wind hybrid system.
