About Us

In 1927 the companies founder, Albert Nothdurft, opened up a small carpentry workshop in the town of Wangen bei Göppingen, thus effectively laying down the foundations for ALNO. The positive development of this workshop, and the fine quality of the hand-made work it supplied, led to the relocation of its production facilities to Pfullendorf in 1957, and in 1958 the carpentry workshop developed into ALNO Möbelwerke GmbH + Co. KG ("ALNO Furniture Production Ltd)."

Mirroring the rapid economic growth undergone of Germany and Europe, ALNO Möbelwerke GmbH + Co. KG developed by leaps and bounds, so that in 1995 the companies was converted into a joint stock company with shares being traded on the Stock Exchanges in Frankfurt and Stuttgart.

In August 2003, ALNO AG was merged with the Casawell Service Group, a network of companies active across the world in the fields of fitted kitchens and DIY-kitchens and in kitchen technology. With a turnover of 649 Mio. EUR during the business year 2004, plus around 2,755 employees, ALNO AG is among the largest manufacturers of kitchens in the world.

In addition to the factories in the companies traditional home town of Pfullendorf, where fitted kitchens are manufactured under the ALNO brand name, ALNO AG has at its disposal various other subsidiary German production companies that manufacture kitchens for specialized market segments: Impuls Küchen GmbH in Brilon, Gustav Wellmann GmbH + Co.KG in Enger and Geba Möbelwerke GmbH, which is based in Löhne.

Elsewhere in Europe, ALNO has seven wholly-owned marketing subsidiary companies. In addition, ALNO also works together with first-rate importers on all the remaining continents, and in most cases has been doing so for many years - in short, ALNO kitchens from ALNO are available around the world.
