About Us
Worldwide furniture makers are shifting their sites to synthetics in an effort to substitute rattan, wicker, bamboo, and other conventional materials in furniture-making.
The transition stems from a growing concern that the expansion of the industry is constraining furniture manufacturers with limitations in the supply of wood, rattan, and other forest-based products.
The solution in synthetic furniture is thus perceived as revolutionan, acsthetically novel and appealing because synthetic furniture offers the versatility, durability, and agility that its natural counterparts could not do.
In the Philippines, Tropitek International introduces this revolutionary shift to synthetics. A manufacturing company engaged in the business of producing synthetic rattan, wicker, bamboo and other materials used for traditional Cebuano furniture making, Tropitek also fabricates these materials into fine furniture primarily for export.
Breaking ground in the Philippines on January 8, 1998 through the initiatives of six founding investors, the company is duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). It has a capital investment of US$250,000, as investors see in Cebu the economic stimulus to propel synthetic furniture manufacturing to world-class markets.
Tropitek's Manufacturing plant is located in Mandaue City, Cebu employing some 600 Cebuanu workers. From the craftsmanship of Cebuano hands, Tropitek's products have been well received in the US market. Tropitek products are also developing a wide international market evident in its production of four tons of furniture daily even during its first three months of operation.
