Handcrafted Guest House
From the source:
Using locally-milled wood from a salvaged deodar cedar, Scott designed and fabricated the interior, fixtures and furnishings for a small guest house in Marin County designed by Dotter/Solfjeld Architects. He wanted the guests of the cottage to experience an instant calm the moment they walk inside, to associate the perfume of deodar cedar with the enveloping glow of its grain. All interior features are made of solid wood from the same aromatic cedar, left mostly unfinished, so the space will gain multi-sensory character and patina over time. Constable calls his approach ‘bioregional vernacular'.
