Transformer Insulating Oil

Transformer Oil is used for insulation as well as cooling of power and distribution transformers, as such the dielectric quality of the oil is essential to the safe and reliable operation of your transformer. Insulating oil deteriorates over time through aging, overloading, moisture ingress due to joint leaks, and degradation of the core insulation so periodic testing is necessary to assess and monitor a transformer’s health.

Frequency of oil testing depends on transformer age, duty/loading cycle, environment, and other factors.
